The lovely ACP medals for all Brevets conducted between Oct 2011 and Jan 2012 in India, arrived from France mid feb, 292 medals weighing in at 10 kgs! I was sorely tempted to open all the packaging and put them in a wooden chest and pretend to be a pirate! :-P

| The Pune Randonneurs Medals all dressed up for the Distribution Ceremony! |
What happened instead was that i got a glimpse of the scale of operations involved! The mess in the living room while i homologated some 225 Brevet cards from 6 cities did nothing to change the character of my house..... But having to organise myself (file all the paperwork, create databases and inventories) was certainly a 'foreign' experience!

| Just before the weekend of Marathon Homologation and medal sorting work I treated myself to a classic Indian Roadster from Atlas cycles.... that I named 'CHETAK' after Maharana Pratap's favourite battle horse! The cycle cost me 3500/-Rs or.... the price of 10 medals! :-) |

The medals and cards (all packed in recycled boxes with reused paper and labels) are ready to go to the eagerly waiting recipients.... Randonneurs in Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai..... most of whom will be seeing and receiving ACP medals for the first time!

ATLAS
....as he often is, wrongly shown carrying the earth.... when it is actually the heavens that he is said to hold up.... need i say more?! |
 |
| The newest addition to my stable seemed to have arrived at the right time, and was quite appropriately recruited to aid in the Delivery of the Medals! |
